Hi everyone!! Today’s topic is “what is my favorite quote?”………
I love quotes, all kinds! I have a whole Pinterest board full of all the quotes I love and I often read them when I am in need of a boost. There is nothing better than a good quote that brings you right back to that moment when you heard someone say it in a movie or read it in a book or heard it in school. There are some really great moments that I can attribute quotes to in my life. I don’t know that I could pick just one. I can narrow it down to a few and explain what they each mean to mean. Lets choose 3.
- “I love you forever. I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.”
This quote hits me right in the feels every time I hear it. I grew up on Robert Munsch books and this one in particular was my favorite growing up. I always imagined as a child when I was all grown up I would read this book to my baby every single night! Little did I know that when I did have my children this book was the book I read to them almost every night! We all have cried together reading this great story and have such fond memories of reading it together. Whenever someone starts saying this quote in our house we all start saying it together and someone ends up hugging each other LOL…..
2. “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better. “
I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. I watched Oprah every, single, day! She always let us know how much of an influence Maya Angelou was for her. I was always so intrigued when she was on her show because she was such an amazing poet and such a smart woman there were all these special things she had and you could feel it through the TV. I didn’t start reading her books until after high school but when I did, I fully understood what Oprah was talking about. I have her books in my collection and turn to them often. This particular quote I didn’t understand when I was younger but as I get older every time I read this or hear it I understand it even more!! I am getting stronger the more I live. I accept that I will learn something new everyday and because of that I will always do better.
3. “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”
We always read Dr. Seuss books growing up. To be honest I hated this guy. I am dyslexic so for me these stupid books were so hard to read! I always hated having to read them outloud because of course I would always screw it up!. So embarrassing…. Anyway even though he doesn’t bring up great memories for me this stupid little guy did teach me to love myself. He had a way of doing that didn’t he…. Anyway this one is the best. I say it to my girls all the time. Love yourself enough to know you are unique and not like anyone else. You wont fit in because you were born to stand out baby!!!
These are just a few of my favorite’s. What are some of your favorite’s? Do we have the same ones? Let me know in the comments 🙂
